Whether personal or business, we all have an obligation to ensure we contribute to having a positive impact on our surroundings. At Nu Recruit we recognise that our operational and cleaning activities can have an environmental impact and as a business are committed to ensuring we minimise, and where possible mitigate, our carbon footprint.
We operate in a responsible manner and have already implemented products and initiatives that will help us on our journey to Net Zero including; eradication of single-use plastics, an electronic fleet of vehicles, use of pre-dosed cleaning products, 100% recycling and the use of chemical free, natural cleaning products where possible.
By removing CO2 from the atmosphere, trees help to combat climate change and recent studies have found that trees may be the best way to stabilise our climate. Every tree can consume roughly 22lbs of carbon dioxide per year (among other greenhouse gases like ozone), and release enough oxygen for a person to breathe for 2 years.
In 2021 and 2022, Nu Group planted 1,000 trees a year on Owner – Mark’s, 16 acre land in Scotland. The aim is to continue to plant 1,000 trees a year and by 2036 we should be able to harvest our own sustainable pine.
Nu Group’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation extends beyond our business practices and processes. Nu Group owner, Mark, started beekeeping 4 years ago. With his new-found knowledge and passion for bees, pollination and honey, he has grown his number of colonies to a total of 50 hives. Mark has shared his knowledge with us, and as a large events supplier in the UK, we believe we have the means to make a difference.
The honey produced for our hives is branded and used as promotional products to clients. We also now recycle materials from events to use in our apiaries to make bee stands, hive bases and roofs. Our clients are welcome to come and experience our beekeeping efforts in person and see firsthand how we are supporting our local environment and encouraging biodiversity.

I genuinely can’t thank you and your teams enough for their efforts over the last couple of weeks. You knew from our previous meetings that cleaning on site has been something we have found challenging to say the least, and the contribution from The Nu Group was for me the most improved element of our operation in 2023. All your management team and staff are so professional, and the attention to detail was fantastic.
